About Us

Our Little Story

Eleanor Pinney founded Pinney Learning Centre in 2014. The need for tutors has increased as class sizes continue to expand, and more children are left behind. We are a tutoring company, and we are dedicated to the academic success of our students. We acknowledge that children learn in different ways, and we adapt our teaching to meet their needs.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”

Nelson Mandela

A message from the founder

Hello, and thanks for visiting our website.

I am an Ontario certified teacher, academic coach, curriculum designer, and educational consultant. I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching from the University of Toronto. I started my career as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) because I always enjoyed working with children. After obtaining my ECE diploma, I obtained my BA (Hons) in Humanities and my Bachelor of Education. My desire for teaching lead me to open Pinney Learning Centre.

Teaching is my passion, and I enjoy seeing students advance and excel in academia. I have supported many families to overcome barriers in the educational system.

I have worked with children for nine years in various settings. The “one size fits all” model does not work in education. Children learn in different ways, and when they are taught in their learning style, they can advance and excel. My main research focus is on finding ways that teachers can raise academic achievement for at-risk students. I am committed to working with students to see them close gaps and overcome barriers in education. Every child can learn, but not in the same way.

Achievements and Awards

Pinney Learning Centre and founder Eleonor Pinney received an award for her dedication, hard work and commitment to all her students.

The award commemorates perseverance, commitment, and unwavering dedication in striving for excellence within a community. Taking the time to address each student’s needs and challenging them to strive for their best has boosted their performance, confidence, and well being. Being awarded this recognition motivates educators further and encourages them to uphold their enthusiasm in continuing to foster a quality learning environment.
